Program Mission
Coaches Committed to African Youth
GK Folks Konnect is a mentorship program designed to leverage the skills and abilities of a diverse group of community leaders and development advocates who have pledged to serve as coaches, committed to serving African youth in the diaspora. Within this program, GK Folks Achievers are given the opportunity to work one-on-one with a coach whose values and goals are closely aligned to theirs as they set out to achieve educational and/or career goals.
Program Format
A 7-Week Leadership Training
GK Folks Konnect is a seven-week Leadership Training program facilitated by educational and career experts from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Each Achiever engages in cohort-based learning to develop critical thinking, articulation, and problem-solving — challenged in a simulated workplace environment.

When & Where
Schedule
Held twice a year — Spring (Feb–May) and Fall (Oct–Dec). Classes are Saturdays 10:00–11:30 AM.
Format
Conference-style setup in libraries or college classrooms. Remote coaches join via Teams / Zoom / Skype. Curriculum is built from real decision-making case studies across Higher Education, Healthcare, IT, Business, Leadership, Construction, Engineering, and more.
Reporting
Quarterly Check-In
Quarterly check-ins generate a yearly report presented at the Annual End-of-Year Board of Directors Meeting.

What We Ask Of You
Achievers must attend and participate in all seven classes. Two or more unexcused absences warrants incompletion, and you'll need to re-enroll in the following session.
